Chateau Cadmus

Our History – Chateau Cadmus

Long before Chateau Cadmus was born, there was Cadmus, the legendary Phoenician prince of Tyre. Son of King Agenor, Cadmus carried with him the spirit of discovery and culture. From the shores of Tyre, he embarked on a journey that would leave a timeless mark on civilization — bringing with him the Phoenician alphabet, the foundation of modern writing, and spreading the richness of his homeland across the Mediterranean.

It is this heritage of wisdom, resilience, and cultural pride that inspires Chateau Cadmus. Just as Cadmus carried the gift of language, we carry forward the gift of our land — transforming the grapes of Lebanon into wines and arak that tell our story.

Founded with passion and a deep respect for tradition, Chateau Cadmus seeks to honor both our ancestors’ craft and the legendary spirit of Cadmus himself. From the vineyards rooted in Lebanon’s fertile valleys to the copper stills that preserve our arak tradition, every detail reflects the marriage of ancient knowledge and modern dedication.

Our journey is one of continuity: preserving the legacy of Tyre, celebrating Lebanon’s winemaking heritage, and sharing it with the world. Each bottle of Chateau Cadmus is not just a drink — it is a story, a history, and a piece of culture that began thousands of years ago on the shores of Tyre.

At Chateau Cadmus, we do not simply make wines and arak — we carry forward a legend.

Heritage & Winemaking

From the ancient city of Tyre, where the Phoenicians first mastered the art of winemaking and distillation, to the fertile valleys of Lebanon where our vineyards flourish today, Chateau Cadmus carries forward a timeless legacy.

Our name is inspired by Cadmus, the Phoenician prince of Tyre, who spread culture, knowledge, and the alphabet across the Mediterranean. Just as he carried the gift of language, we carry the gift of our land — transforming grapes into wine and distilling them into the spirit of Lebanon: Arak.

At Chateau Cadmus, heritage meets craftsmanship. We respect the traditions passed down through generations:

Hand-harvested grapes nurtured by Lebanon’s unique terroir.

Arak distilled in traditional copper stills, using the time-honored slow process that ensures purity and smoothness.

Wines crafted with a balance of authenticity and modern expertise.

Each bottle tells two stories: one of Lebanon’s ancient roots, and one of our family’s devotion to carrying this tradition into the future. More than a drink, Chateau Cadmus is a symbol of culture, hospitality, and resilience — an invitation to experience Lebanon’s heart in every glass.
